Boho Dusty Rose Wedding at Shady Elms Farm

Boho Dusty Rose Wedding at Shady Elms Farm
This Shady Elms Farm wedding is for you, bohemian beauties. A palette of burnt sienna, taupe, and dusty rose brought to life the hues of dunes and a desert sunset. The warm atmosphere provided by the romantic chandelier lighting and the wooden barn beams inside set a lovely tone for Bri and Trent's celebration. Airy gauze table runners were used to line the wooden tables, and gold beaded chargers were used at each place setting. The stunning tables capes were finished with amber glasses and menu cards with a vintage feel and wax seal accents. Statement-making floral arrangements with pampas grass and various mismatched bridesmaid dresses from Blanc de Blanc Bridal contributed to the eclectic bohemian atmosphere. The bride looked stunning in a Marchesa wedding gown by Anne Gregory Couture, which had an open back and beautiful lace bell sleeves. "Dreamy" is not even close to describing it! Not only was this a highly fashionable wedding, but it was also a lot of fun, thanks to 2nd II None Productions. Wild Native Photography was there to capture every last stunning moment.
About the Couple
Even though we were both born and reared in Wheeling, West Virginia, we had never met until the summer of 2016. We met that May, and that was the beginning of our story. My sister Erica and I had recently received our Master of Education degrees from WVU, and my family hosted a graduation celebration at their house. Trent's older brother, Eric, took him to the graduation celebration. After we were introduced, Trent wrote me a message asking to see me again soon and "apologizing" for his beer-pong victory. I still have that message today. We had to wait as I was on summer vacation for work. We went on our first official date to Friendship Park in Ohio on September 16 after hanging out at a WVU game in August since we've been together!
Trent proposed on the porch of our new house in Rayland, Ohio, at sunset on July 24, after we had been dating for over three years.
About the Wedding
A rustic yet classic style inspired our wedding. I wanted the location, my dress, the décor, and other elements to reflect this. The wooden barn, cozy lighting, and chandeliers give the space a sophisticated yet rustic vibe. It provided the ideal backdrop for the style I wanted.
Our wedding's color scheme was champagne, pink, and the sunset over Sedona. I decided on these hues for the mismatched bridesmaid dresses. The "Petal" tint of the ties the groom and groomsmen used matched all of the bridesmaid outfits.
I wanted everything to work together but not necessarily match. This is also evident on the venue's tables. Our selection of dusty rose-colored napkins was matched with amber-colored water goblets, multicolored votives, and chargers made of glass and gold beads. Our wedding also had a little do-it-yourself element. In addition to an antique French door that I utilized as the seating chart, I discovered a variety of crystal "kissing bells" at a nearby antique store. In addition, I framed ancient wedding pictures of Trent and my family and personalized a big gold mirror displayed in the barn. My gown was another distinctive feature of the wedding. I found the distinctive gown I was searching for—one with a hint of vintage flair. The open back and flowing, lace sleeves were my favorite features of my gown.
Favorite Moment
Picking a favorite time of day is difficult! Our highlight dance at the end of the reception was my favorite part of the day, aside from walking down the aisle and meeting Trent for the first time. As husband and wife, we agreed to do a final slow dance at the end of the evening. The lights were dimmed as we danced, and our DJ invited everyone to pull out their phones and shine them at us. This was one of my favorite times because it allowed us to spend some quality time with alone at the end of the evening. Following the reception, where we danced and spent time with our family and friends, this was a remarkable change of pace and gave my new husband and me a unique moment. We got an extra first dance with our loved ones present because we could select the song in advance.
