Boho Jewel Tone Wedding at Bramble wood

Bramble wood's stunning jewel-tone wedding combines bohemian style with rustic elements. The concept for the day was inspired by Gabriella's preferred color scheme and her self-described "flower child" style. The mismatched bridesmaids in plum, burgundy, teal, and navy made this look truly pop. An additional touch of nature was added to the exposed wooden beams of the amazing barn wedding venue with floral print embellishments and fresh foliage runners. In addition to a toast with their favorite cava from Spain, a guest book composed of postcards from the couple's European trips, and even a variation on the mother-son and father-daughter dances, this wedding was full of unique touches and challenges to the norm. It's the ideal fusion of laid-back, sincere, attractive, and passionate. The coverage from Tied & True Photography is going to be amazing.

About the Couple

Although Brandon and I constantly saw other people, we became friends in high school after meeting in middle school. We discovered we were attending Robert Morris University for college together while chatting in study hall one day during our senior year.

We stayed pals at RMU till luck intervened! As our time at RMU ended, we fell in love and had the chance to go through a lot of thrilling and complex emotional and personal growth. After graduating from RMU, we shared an apartment in Shadyside and began our first post-college careers. We had a family vacation with both of our families just after our third anniversary of dating. I felt as though I was being kept in the dark about something. My suspicions were aroused by Brandon's and both of our mothers' suspicious behavior. He didn't pop the question, though, until one of the final evenings of the trip! My cousin and her spouse invited us to snap photos with them on a small island in the center of a bay close to our accommodations. Unfortunately, my cousin's husband "forgot his phone" in the car when we arrived, so they turned around while we continued walking. Brandon led me to a location where we could observe the sunset, set the camera aside, and knelt. We celebrated together with the rest of our families later that night!

About the Wedding

Love was the theme of our wedding. We were careful to give every aspect careful thought, personalize it for us, and make it as meaningful as possible. It was a natural bohemian wedding influenced by nature and held in a rustic barn. At my core, I am a flower child. Rich, dark, jewel-toned flowers are my favorite; they served as the basis for our wedding's theme and atmosphere. Everything had to have a natural vibe—calm, sincere, and romantic.

Rather than the customary mother-son/father-daughter dances, we decided on what I called the "family dance," where I danced with my dad, and Brandon danced with his mom at the song's beginning. We exchanged places midway through, so I danced with Brandon's dad, and Brandon danced with my mom. We were thrilled to have everyone join us and add even more specialness to this event.

We chose to include our passion for travel in our guestbook. We invited visitors to write us a postcard and put it in an antique mailbox we utilized as décor, and we purchased postcards featuring pictures Brandon and I had shot from some of our favorite places in Europe. At the moment, Brandon is working as a travel nurse, and we relocate to a different place roughly every three months. My sister has been mailing us the postcards our guests sent to provide us with a slight note of affection from our loved ones back home. I enjoy getting them because they remind us of our wedding day!

Favorite Moment

Being present at every moment was my favorite part of our wedding day. It was a day to celebrate love and get away from everything else. I have never felt more at ease in my life, and I doubt that many brides say that on their wedding day! Despite my tendency to overthink things, I had no qualms or hesitations about this.

It was everything and more than the laid-back, sincere, and romantic day I had hoped for. In the morning and the days leading up to the wedding, I enjoyed hanging out with my bridesmaids and our mothers, laughing and taking many pictures as we waited for the ceremony. Brandon looked handsome, and I felt so beautiful, like myself, thanks to my outfit, hair, and makeup. And I'm thrilled that we took a peek! We couldn't stop grinning since we were so glad to be together and share that experience. It was a truly special experience and a one-of-a-kind chance to have a great time with everyone in one location, and we were surrounded by love and support the entire day.
