Burgundy & Navy Wedding at Sheraton Station Square

Burgundy & Navy Wedding at Sheraton Station Square
Melissa and Steven's wedding at the Sheraton Station Square featured a blend of traditional elements and contemporary wedding day styles. They both desired a sophisticated party to enhance the hotel ballroom's appearance. To do that, a color scheme consisting of passionate burgundy and clean navy blue was used, with gold specks added for a faint metallic touch. The wedding arch, high and low centerpieces, and even the floral collars for the couple's dog were all designed by Julie James Design to feature red roses combined with Amaranthus, white hydrangeas, and blue thistle. In addition to walking down the aisle with their fur babies, they also appeared in a personalized cake topper placed on top of a Bethel Bakery wedding cake painted with flowers. Devoted to You Events ensured that every element was flawless, including the bride's personalized place cards and signs. Speaking of photos, Travelling Heart Productions and Meghan Lee Photography exquisitely documented the couple's day. Keep scrolling to find out for yourself!
About the Couple
We first connected while attending Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Thanks to an introduction from a mutual acquaintance, the rest is history.
On November 10, 2018, we got engaged at the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Garden. The day was chilly, and Steven wanted to do it by himself. He got down on one knee as we visited the bonsai garden and coy pond outdoors. Since no one else was around, it was a truly special time that we could all celebrate. Since I was so enthusiastic and nobody else knew what had just happened, it felt strange to stroll about after!
About the Wedding
It was elegant, straightforward, and very classic. We used navy, burgundy, and a touch of gold. I produced all of the signs and place cards myself; I did many things for our wedding and tried to be creative. Our cake was fantastic. Bethel Bakery so exquisitely made it, and we had to include our dogs as the cherry on top. The space was cohesively designed by Julie James Design and won't need much more.
Favorite Moment
Having our relatives and friends together was a lot of fun. Since I'm from New York, many people come from all over. Having everyone together to congratulate us for a single day was incredible. About 100 people attended our wedding, so it wasn't a huge affair. It was the most fantastic day of my life; it was all I could have imagined and more! On Friday night, we had a welcome party for everyone who had come, turning it into a little weekend. The wedding took place on Saturday, and we gave everyone a brunch on Sunday. Being around everyone for so long was incredible.
