Classic Contemporary Wedding at the Duquesne Power Center

Classic Contemporary Wedding at the Duquesne Power Center
Adding a modern twist to classic elements made Tori and Mike's extravagant wedding at the Duquesne Power Center come to life. Incorporating unusual pieces from All Occasions Party Rental and Marbella Event Furniture & Decor Rental brought the ideal modern touch, while lush white floral designs (including a gorgeous cascading sweetheart table centerpiece), gold accents, and foliage created a timeless, beautiful vibe! The newlyweds looked stunning, and it was as if the magnificent event décor wasn't enough! Tori's stylish bridal gown from Bridal Beginning makes us swoon with its delicate bow accents. She looked like a traditional bride with accessories from Clarissa Boutique and a low up do from Glam to Go. The unified style of this wedding captures the essence of this stunning couple, and we are completely enamored! Photographed by Kristin Piteo, these images demonstrate that even the most elegant weddings may benefit from a little extra flair!
About the Couple
Even though Mike and I were in the same preschool class and grew up just a few miles apart, I didn't meet him until the eighth grade! Although Mike attended a Catholic school and I attended a public one, we were in the same grade. We would occasionally visit one another before our first year after meeting at the home of a mutual friend. Mike fortunately joined our "friend group" soon after school started, and the rest is history!
Mike left for the University of Pittsburgh after high school, while I went to Penn State University to pursue a long-distance romance. Fortunately, we were reunited in Pittsburgh following our time in college.
When Mike and I planned a weekend trip a year or so later, he recommended we stop at MY FAVORITE coffee shop in Ohio Pyle. Before we left, he knelt and proposed to me. We were dining outside in the garden, enjoying coffee and dessert. Our best friends joined us for the most fantastic celebration this past weekend!
About the Wedding
Traditional style with a contemporary twist! Using many white flowers and greenery, I chose a more neutral gold tone. With two exquisite baroque chairs and flowers that served as the background, we created a gorgeous sweetheart table. I also added acrylic high-top guest tables and two acrylic gold dining tables for our bridal party to add dimension to our floor layout. The acrylic tables added a wow factor to our wedding while also giving it the modern design we were going for. Our bridal party and their guests used a variety of gold chairs. All Occasions is the best source for exquisite rentals!
Additionally, Mt. Lebanon Floral did a stunning job with our flowers. Various tall gold vases, candelabras, and low vases filled with lovely cascading flowers were displayed. I got the majority of my suppliers and ideas via Instagram. Planning a wedding is extremely difficult because there are so many different designs available, and it's easy to become bogged down in the details, but staying true to your vision is crucial.
Favorite Moment
Seeing the ballroom for the first time was my favorite part! With my mother's help, I spent a year organizing because I wanted to see everything before the ballroom was packed with loved ones. It was truly an enchantment. As our band began to play, Mike and I were beaming from ear to ear while dancing. It was as if I were dreaming. We showed our parents the ballroom once we had both had a chance to take it all in. It was invaluable to witness our parents' expressions.
