The Best Winter Wedding Flowers That Don't Look Like Christmas

Just because you use evergreens in your arrangements does not mean your winter wedding will be Christmas-y.

The most important thing to remember is that your winter wedding does not necessarily have to be Christmas-themed just because you included evergreens in your centerpieces. One of the things I always try to remember as a professional florist is seasonality—what's going on outside and how I attempt to represent it in my arrangements and designs. I love winter since I reside in one of the snowiest cities in the United States and experience all the seasons, but none more than winter. However, this does not imply that I want "Christmas" to continue if I design in January, February, March, April, or *gasp* May.

Evergreens

One of my favorite kinds of vegetation to utilize is evergreen. They have a wonderful scent and a lengthy shelf life, which is fantastic. They also give texture and seasonality to arrangements and look AMAZING when mixed with nearly any other greenery.

  • Port Orford Cedar has a lovely drape and a powerful smell. It may be used for almost anything, including centerpieces, loose greens for the table, bouquets, and more!
  • Because of its slightly chunkier structure, long needle pine is better suited for centerpieces, urns, or arch arrangements.
  • Leyland Cedar: Like other cedars, it has a lovely draping but looks a little more yellow/green than an average evergreen. It may be used for almost anything, including centerpieces and bouquets!

Use evergreens with saturated colors to display texture and seasonality.

Jewel Tones

Saturated-colored evergreens can be used to highlight texture and seasonality. It looks fantastic with deep raspberry, plums, and royal purple accented with blue thistle. It will convey to everyone that you are here for the moody atmosphere because it is rich and textural.

Port Orford Cedar would look fantastic and added to our Jewel Tones Collection!

Here are some other flowers that might be ideal for a jewel-toned theme if daring!

  • Roses with deep purple berries.
  • Purple at midnight is a little flower of calla lily.
  • Berry of the Purple Privet.
  • Minerva Fancy Carnation in Burgundy.
  • Violet-deep ranunculus.
  • Button Pom in purple.
  • Thistle, blue.
  • Scabies raspberry.

Winter White - Organic

I find that reflecting on the season (what's going on outdoors) is the best thing I can do. In winter, most people see dreary skies and sparse branches (I love you, WNY!). Nonetheless, winter highlights all of the beauty and texture that can be found even in a bleak environment. The colors brown, silver, green, and white blend together flawlessly to create an organic yet sophisticated appearance. These flowers are ideal for the situation.

  • White ranunculus and white anemone: One thing to remember when getting married in the winter is that while most flowers have finished their growing seasons, the bulb season has begun! Flowers that tolerate colder temperatures, such as anemones and ranunculus, are ideal for flower farms since they may be forced into greenhouses!
  • Genuine white flowers of any kind
  • Silver Brunia: This shade of gray and silver is a fantastic way to give your flowers a "winter" feel. Hardy and gorgeous in any arrangement, Brunia berries look especially good tucked into corsages and boutonnieres!

With a few touches of Silver Brunia or any other evergreen, our Emerald and Cream or Cream and Sage ensembles would look stunning and quickly become more seasonal.

Citrus

Think about adding warm, lemony tones to brighten it up because the weather is so dreary! Evergreens, particularly the Leyland cedar, combined with oranges, yellows, and blush pinks, will produce a stunning and lively wintertime aesthetic! Evergreens to highlight the season would look fantastic with our Citrus Crush, Pink Lemonade, and Citrine Collections!

  •  Ranunculus orange.
  • Rose from the Orange Circus.
  • Orange and grapefruit make the ideal combination in Sorbet Orange Snapdragon!
  • Peach Stock.
  • Mother of Pearl Rose, peachy pink.
